Toby Pegram is our lead pastor at City Park Church. He is married to his wife of 11 years, Melissa Pegram. They have 4 children: a son Grayson, age 9, daughter Autumn in heaven, daughter Emery, age 6, and Camden, age 3.
Pastor Toby has had a call to reach others for the sake of Christ since he began pursuing ministry when he was just 18 years old. He has served as a youth pastor for the past 9 years in 2 different churches. He met his wife Melissa in 2008 and they were married in 2011. Two weeks after their wedding they moved to Elyria, Ohio. They both felt a call to reach a new area and to serve students and their families. Three years later the Pegrams moved back to North Carolina with their 6 month old Grayson. Not long after, Toby took the position as youth pastor at Triad Baptist Church in Kernersville, NC and served for 4 years before being asked to be the pastor for Triad’s church plant for the South Winston area.
From the beginning of their years in ministry together, Toby and Melissa have had a passion to serve others and share the love of Christ. Toby often says, “I want to be a disciple who makes disciples,” a motto he has instilled in the students he has served. Pastor Toby has a passion to reach his community and has proved this with the monthly outreach events he led during his time in youth ministry. He planned trips to serve at the Winston Salem Rescue Mission, worked alongside City Lights Ministry to help underprivileged children, encouraged students to bring donations and make blankets for Brenner’s Children’s Hospital, and lives a daily life of service to his family and church family. He and his family are happy to be serving the Washington Park area and look forward to the plans God has for the area and their church.
